Add another to the list of new restaurants owing their style to Restaurant: Impossible and HGTV personality Taniya Nayak. The Boston-based design diva is behind the look ofBostonia Public House, opening in February in the Financial District’s landmark Board of Trade building – see the rendering above. According to a rep for the upcoming restaurant, Nayak is transforming a two-floor space, formerly inhabited by Irish pub Kitty O’Shea, into a “polished and playful” spot that will incorporate an exposed kitchen; a bar on each floor (including one 100-footer of walnut), furnishings in “cognac and coffee” hues and design elements that complement the “refined rustic” menu to be unveiled. Nayak certainly has her hands full. As we reported earlier this month, the designer behind spots like Petit Robert CentralBlue Inc. and Back Bay Harry’s is also responsible for the interior of anotherupcoming downtown restaurant, MAST’.
